Thomas Alfred Judd married Teresa Hastings 27 December 1830, in West, Leeds, District of Johnstown, Canada. They embraced the gospel and were baptized by John E. Page, 26 July 1836. In 1838, they sold their farm so they could gather with the Saints. "On the road to Nauvoo we passed through Kirtland and camped not far from the Temple and were given permission to go through it. I well remember the awe we felt as we entered the temple. Mother and Father looked very serious and spoke quite low and cautioned us children not to speak at all...The impression remains with me today." (As told by Margaret Judd Clawson, sister to William Riley Judd and daughter of Thomas and Teresa Judd.)
Lovely wallpaper and nice introduction.
ReplyDeleteVery nice blog. The pictures add so much.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog! That was great to read about the early saints' impression of the Kirtland Temple. How amazing to have been part of the gathering of the saints!
ReplyDeleteVery nice blog. I enjoyed your introductory story and will be looking forward to reading more.
ReplyDeleteI can share good quality copies of those photos of Thomas Alfred Judd and Teresa Hastings (my great-great-great grandparents) from a family scrapbook. Can you let me know the source of the quote from Margaret Judd Clawson (my great-great grandmother)?
